Apostilles/Authentications

Document Requirements for Authentications

  • The document must be certified by a Wyoming official such as a County Clerk or Deputy, State Registrar or Deputy, State Examiner, or acknowledged before a Wyoming Notary Public.

  • All signatures must be original.

  • The fee is $20 per document. All checks (personal or company) or money orders should be made payable to the Wyoming Secretary of State.

  • A written request for apostilles or certifications should include the name of the country where the document is destined to assure proper authentication. For your convenience, you may utilize this form.

About Our Office

We have a long history of serving the public. Beginning in April 1869 with the appointment of the first Secretary of the Territory of Wyoming, Edward M. Lee, by United States President Ulysses S. Grant, this office has always served the public from the State Capitol Building. However, following the completion of the Capitol Renovation Project in 2019, the Office is now located at Herschler Building East, Suites 100 and 101.
